| Course description | |
Main objectives of the course are:
- to learn about synchronous communication and distance learning delivery methods, technologies, standards and tools;
- to acquire necessary skills for communication and teaching using videoconferences and video-lecturing tools
- to analyse from the documents and to experiment in practice with most popular and state of the art tools (software and hardware) used in distance education and to reflect on the experimentation results;

| Student and the teacher roles | Teachers main roles are:
- teaching and delivering subject specific content
- tutoring and guiding through the learning process (content, learning activities and assignments)
- moderating students communication
Students will have to be active participants of the learning process by performing different activities:
- reception of the learning content
- exploaration of the online recourses
- experimantation with diffent tecnologies and tools
- reflecting and debating their experiences and experimentation results |
| Kind of assignments and assessment | The following kinds of assignements are foreseen in this course:
- some self assesment questions is presented after each chapter
- exploration of the online recourses in the specific subject will lead to the writen report and presentation to the peers using video conferences and web broadcast;
- experimentation with given tools will be performed in the team and will result to the comparative analysis and reflection on the discussion forum
- some other smaller tasks and assigments could be introduced taking into account sepcific needs of the learners
- final evaluation will be concluded by online test |
| Comments | The module is a part of the biger course "Technologies and Standard in Distance Education" wich consist of two modules: "Asinchronous Learning Technologies and Standards" and "Synchronous Learnin Technologies and Standards". |
